5 Ways Understanding Your Enneagram Type Can Help Your Branding

I think it’s so FUN 🤩 to learn about my enneagram type. But, did you know it can be a super valuable tool 🧰🛠 for refining your brand? The more you know about yourself, the more you can infuse your own qualities into your branding and start attracting clients who just 👏 get 👏 you. 👏

Here’s how:

1.) Helps You Identify Your Core Values

Your core values and motivations are really important in building the foundation of your brand. Use this understanding to align your branding with what you truly believe in and what is important to you.

For instance, if you’re a Type 1 who values honesty, ethics, and perfection, your brand’s visuals and messaging will probably reflect the precision and structure you hold so highly, whereas a Type 7 who is all about adventure, openness, and independence, might take a more casual, free flying approach that shows their high-energy, spontaneous personality.

2) Helps You Understand Your Strengths & Weaknesses

Knowing your strengths and weaknesses can be a powerful mirror for your brand’s strengths and weaknesses.

Are you a Type 9 who is pleasant, laid back and accommodating, but can be too complacent to really ask for the sale? Maybe you’re a Type 3 who does a great job of being productive and adapting to be successful in any situation, but you’re not showing enough of who you really are in your branding. Or how about a Type 8, who is great at taking charge and being direct, but might need to show a softer side and help prospective clients see that they can relinquish control?

3) Helps Develop Your Unique Voice

Each enneagram type has a unique perspective and way of communicating. Use your understanding of your type to develop a brand voice that is authentic to who you are.

A Type 4 might use lot of symbolism and emotional messaging. A Type 6 might communicate in a way that shows they are trustworthy, dependable, and planning for every possible scenario.

4) Helps Connect With Your Audience

If you know what motivates and inspires you, you can speak to those same motivations and inspirations in your branding. Your audience can easily identify with shared values. A Type 5 is motivated to be competent and self-sufficient and can speak clearly to those desires shared by their audience.

5) Helps You Differentiate Yourself

Use your unique perspective and values to set yourself apart and create a brand that is truly one-of-a-kind. Knowing what makes you tick (including your motivations and fears) can help you fast-track your brand’s journey to authenticity.

For instance, if you’re a Type 2 focused on finding positive connections and creating an environment full of warmth, affection, and love, and you can extend that into your branding, as well.

Remember, your enneagram type is just one piece of the puzzle when it comes to developing your brand. Be sure to consider all aspects of your personality, skills, and experience when creating and refining your branding.
